Fun ideas and services to get you connected to nature
Cat (Pet) Gardens
Cats especially love the garden. My two cats are always on hand to "help" me whenever I am outside working. They love to hide behind plants, jump off rocks, explore waterfalls and ponds and chase anything that moves.
Think about planning a special garden for your furry friends - they LOVE Catmint - a perennial herb in the mint family - grows purple flowers in a huge mound for most of the summer.
My two roll around on and in it and flatten the plant, but it's resilient - it will bounce back before their next visit! For cat garden tips, call me.
Bridal/Baby Showers
Think about holding your special event in the garden. Serve herbed teas, finger sandwiches and delicate cookies amongst the blooms of summer. To continue the garden theme, ask each guest to bring a seed packet or perennial plant for the bride or mother-to-be to plant in her garden. Choose plants with symbolic meanings - we have a complete list for you to refer to. Include a group activity such as Reiki ceremonies, group meditations or garden crafts.
Unity Garden Ceremonies
Perfect for remarriage or a small wedding, a Unity Garden Ceremony involves a home garden wedding ceremony with a twist. Guest are all asked to bring a perennial plant with special meaning and a tag to mark the plant. They may wish to plant trees in the yard before the ceremony to honor their parents or passed loved ones. The trees and the plants brought by guests are acknowledged and blessed by the ceremony officiant. Later, the couple designs a special garden in which to include their plants, thus symbolizing the unity of the new extended family.
Home Parties
Great for getting the girls together for an afternoon or for a Mother's Day treat, hold a garden craft party or host a talk given on special gardens, such as Alzheimer's gardens, Healing gardens, Sacred gardens, Pet gardens, etc. Call us to schedule your party today!
Children's Parties
Ideal for young children, hold a garden-themed birthday party. Activities guided by the Garden Therapist include transplanting, learning about compost, plant care, planting seeds, etc. Children learn while doing and connect to the healing power of nature at the same time. Call for details.
